Not A News
Not A News
“Not A News” is my personal experimentation to collaborate the design and illustrations. The project takes multiple procedure to find the most effective visual representations. The intention is to design an unrealistic newspaper by creating a conceptual template and destroying with meaningless doodles and images. The “Not A News” also satires the ongoing current issue, the Fake News, to express how many people nowadays distrust the media.
Tools in-used: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Colored-pencils
The design is inspired by the vintage newspaper design templates from the 1970s and 80s. I emphasized the bold and minimalistic structure of old typography and design with a hint to abstractionism.
The first experimentation led me to design the used and thrown-away depiction by destructing the newspaper with the messy implementation of the stickers. The combination of the sticker illustrations successfully created the feel of “used and thrown-away” but, it lacked the representation of people’s carelessness for media and news.
In this last stage of experimentation, I explored the doodling as an art of unconsciousness. While the first experimentation still strongly exposes the design of the newspaper, these final products successfully eliminate it, by capturing more attention to the doodle only.
